1/18/13 Q Connection

Senior Exhibitions 2013

Panelists Needed!
If you have never sat on a panel it is a very rewarding experience.  Student present our school-wide Learning Goals (Q-5). The Q-5 are the foundation of Serra High School’s educational philosophy. The Senior Exhibition Presentation is the time when all graduating seniors must demonstrate to a panel of teachers, community members, and fellow students that they have met each goal of the  Q-5 and are ready to graduate. The exhibition will reflect upon accomplishments at Serra High School, presented through a job-interview type setting. Each Senior Exhibition is roughly 8 to 10 minutes students will present the evidence to prove that they have met each Q-5, and conclude with a question and answer period for panelists to dive deeper for more information. In addition to the presentation students are required to submit a skills based resume, clearly demonstrating each criteria of the Q-5. Presentations are graded using the attached rubric.  This is a high school requirement and all seniors must pass their Senior Exhibitions in order to graduate.

Senior Exhibition will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, January 23rd and 24th  from 11:30- 2:45 PM. We currently have over 350 Serra High School seniors who will be presenting their exhibitions. We need your participation to make this a successful experience for our seniors. Please encourage co-workers and friends to volunteer as panel members as well. If you elect to participate, please plan to wear business attire during the Exhibition. The students will be dressed professionally as well. We will provide lunch and beverages for all our  panelists..

If you are interested in serving on a panel please click here.  We look forward to your participation and thank you for supporting the students of Serra High School.

Junior Panelists Also Needed!
We are also looking for Juniors to sit in on Senior Exhibition panels.  This is a good opportunity for Juniors to get a preview of what is going to be expected of them next year.   If your 11th grader would like to sit on a panel have them click here to sign up.  Deadline for signing up is Monday, January 21.

To all parents: We do not issue Blue Slips during finals.
If you have a scheduled appointment you must let the Attendance Office know before Tuesday, January 22. Blue slips will not be sent out to classrooms during finals!
