please know your efforts are recognized and appreciated, always! For those who could not make it to the
Reception, please accept our heartfelt thanks for everything you do. With your ongoing support, the many
programs here at Serra, including Sports, Music, ROTC, Drama, and much more, can

STUDENT HIGHLIGHTS - This week, the Student-2-Student (S2S) hosted their annual YELLOW RIBBON WEEK. Lunchtime activities were planned all week to help raise awareness about the problem of suicide among teens and how we can prevent suicide through education and awareness. The students' aim was to spread a simple but clear message - "It's OK to ask for help when you need it." The Suicide Prevention, Education, Awareness, and Knowledge (SPEAK) program coordinators also gave presentations in the 9th and 11th grade English classes earlier in the week. The SPEAK program's mission is "to reduce the stigma that is associated with mental health and depression, increase help-seeking behaviors in our youth, and improve staff responsiveness to suicidal concerns and behaviors in our students by providing suicide prevention education to students, staff, and parents throughout the district." For more information about the SPEAK program, go to: http://www.sandi.net/Page/2093
