Winter Wonderland Week 12/17-12/21
In honor of the holidays, ASB has declared next week "Winter Wonderland
Spirit Week". The spirit days are as follows:
Monday: Holiday Hat Day
Elf, Santa, Beanie, etc….
Tuesday: New Year's Eve Day
Top hats, 2013 glasses, formal wear, anything you might wear on New Year's Eve.
Wednesday: West Coast Winter Day
So Cal is a great place to be for the holidays! Break out the beach wear and show the world what Cali Winter is all about.
Thursday: Holiday Movie Day
Dress like a character from your favorite Holiday movie.
Friday: Ugly Sweater Day
(For some of us it's just called…… Friday)

Serra Athletic Director Season Wrap-up
Serra Athletics started in August and has just finished the
fall season. The fall season was
exciting with all of the teams doing very well and all of the varsity teams
making the CIF Play-offs again this year (Girls Tennis, Field Hockey, Girls
Volleyball, Cross Country, Football, Boys Water Polo). Serra High grabbed 3 League Titles (Football,
Water Polo, Field Hockey) and 2 CIF Titles (Field Hockey and Boys Water
Polo). Congratulations to individuals in
the sports of Cross Country (Anthony
Masayesva, Brian Masayesva, Shayn Lozano, Austin Corvo, Marc Lewis Ricardo
Obeso, David Ekelund, Max Turnberg, Jacob Harrison, Madalynn Amos, Audrey Bell,
Laura Cassin, Victoria Davis, Emma Krikorian, Sarah Spangle, Gaby Von Borstel,
Perla Tapia, Ally Harvey, Mireya Zuniga) and
Girls Tennis (Cassidy Ferrell, Karina
Chamberlain, Joanna Rodriguez, Olivia Gesikowski, & Julia Nguyen) for making the CIF Playoffs. In Girls Tennis the doubles
team of Karina Chamberlain/Joanna Rodriguez made it to the the third round of
CIF. In Cross Country Anthony Masayesva
made it all the way to the CIF State Championships and out of 184 runners he
placed 21st. I would like to congratulate all of the
athletes and coaching staffs on a wonderful and exciting season. All of you represented yourselves, family,
team, school and community with the pride of the Brown and Gold. Thank you for a great season and a great way
to start the school year off. I would
also like to thank the Serra Marching Band, Color Guard, Cheer, and NJROTC for
performing at all the football games and supporting the team throughout the
season. A special thanks to all the
parents, fans and community who bleed the Brown and Gold and support the
programs.
Please look for the 112 Serra Student-Athletes who made the
UT All Academic Teams in an upcoming addition of the Union Tribune. These Student-Athletes are Juniors and
Seniors of a Varsity Team who have a 3.0 or higher cumulative weighted GPA.
We now move into the Winter Season of Sport. Thank you to all the athletes who
participated in try-outs. Please go to
the school website for schedules and a daily calendar of events. I anticipate a great winter season with our
teams who are already off to a great start in all of the sports (Wrestling,
Girls Water Polo, Boys and Girls Basketball, Boys and Girls Soccer).

Dance Dress Code
Please remember the dance dress code for all female attendees before purchasing your dress. Dresses must be at least finger-tip length, no spandex, and naturally flowing. Dresses may not be backless below the bra line or have side cut-outs. Front slits must be fingertip length or lower. Thank you for ensuring an elegant and tasteful dance for all.

Serra High Parent Center
The goal of the parent center is to help facilitate student achievement through parent involvement. The Parent Center will be open every Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30 beginning January 15, 2013. The Parent Center is located in room 231 on the north side of campus in the 200 building. Please take some time to visit your Parent Center.
