The California High School Exit Exam will be held on March 12th &13th.
ALL 10th grade students must take the CAHSEE on these days. Please make sure that your student is in attendance the 12th and 13th. All students must pass both exams in order to graduate high school in California.
Electronic Devices And Testing:
Please share the following information with your student:
Due to numerous testing irregularities across the state, greater attention will be paid to electronic devices and testing. Cell phones, iPods, MP3 Players, iPhones, Tablets or any other electronic devices are NOT allowed to used, seen or heard in the testing room. If a student brings an electronic device to school, it must be turned completely off, be placed in a backpack and the backpack must be placed on the floor or stored in another room. Electronic devices must not be kept on the student's person in the testing room. For example, they cannot be stored in pockets. No pictures are to be taken of the tests or answer documents. Nothing about the tests may be shared on Facebook or any other social media site.
If an electronic device is seen or heard AT ANY TIME in the testing room, REGARDLESS IF THE STUDENT WAS USING IT, the student's test will be invalided and they will face further disciplinary action, including possible suspension. Please encourage your student to keep their electronic devices at home on testing days.

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED FOR THE CAHSEE:
1) We need approximately 2000 pencils, sharpened and ready to go! Stop by the office if you have some time and we will give you a box and pencils and an electric sharpener.
2) Supervision during the CAHSEE – March 12th and 13th. Plenty of volunteers will be needed to help proctor the upcoming California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE). The exam will take place on March 12th and 13th. Volunteers can sign up for the entire morning from 7:00-11:30am, or in shifts: 7:00-9:30am and 9:00-11:30am. Volunteers will be responsible for monitoring doors, looking to electronic devices and passing out pencils. (Please note: if you student is taking the CAHSEE, you will not be able to supervise the
testing.)
testing.)
If you are able to help, please contact Bridgette Brunetto at bbrunetto@sandi.net.
SAT Prep Course
There are about 10 seats left in the SAT Prep Course being offered beginning March 27th. UCSD is teaching a 16-hour course for $100.00 per student and will be held here on campus. Please call Mrs. Allen on ext. 207 for more information.
From The Attendance Office
Please be sure we have your current address and phone number on file. We have had a high volume of returned mail and want to make sure everyone is receiving important information sent out by the school. If you have moved please bring a new proof of residence to the attendance office as soon as possible so that you don’t miss any information. Proof of residence must be one of the following: gas & electric bill, cable or water bill, housing orders or rental agreement. Thank you for your cooperation.
Parents: Student contracts are available if your student will be absent five school days or more. Please be sure to notify the attendance office a minimum of one week in advance of the absence and request the contracts. This will ensure the teachers have plenty of time to prepare the schoolwork your student will need while he or she is out. Thank you for your cooperation.
To all parents - If your student is transferring from Serra High School, please notify the school at least one week before the last day of attendance. At that time we will provide you with information as to what you will need for that last day. This will ensure a smoother transition for your student.
